What is Comment Capture?

With the Comment Capture feature you can respond to comments on your Facebook posts with an automated message from your bot.

Under the Opt-in tools section in the left side menu, navigate to the Comment Capture section.

Here you can set-up your comment capture opt-in tool. This will send a message to customers who comment on all posts for the first time (global comments) or on specific posts when running campaigns (by new or existing posts).

You can use Comment Capture to run campaigns on specific posts, like “Comment for a chance to win” for example.

To connect to an existing post, copy and paste in the URL or ID of the Facebook post as shown below. When connecting an existing post, a message will only send to those who comment on the post after connecting it.

You can then set-up the first reply that will send to a commenter. We recommend having a strong call to action in the first reply, so that it encourages the commenter to reply to the bot. Once they reply to the bot, a second message will send where you can link questions, content, your main menu, etc.

You can also target or block the second reply using keywords that can be identified in what the customer sends to the bot.

Set-up Global Comment Capture

Let’s go ahead and set-up your Global Comment Capture message. In the Comment Capture section, select Edit Global.

Here you can set-up your first and second replies. The first reply will send the first time someone comments on one of your posts. They will only be opted into the bot if they reply to this message. We recommend having a strong call to action to encourage the commenter to reply!

For your second reply, you can send any text or link something else within the bot.

Now you can save your Global Comment Capture message.

This will send to those who comment on your posts for the first time, and once they reply, opt them in to your bot! 🤖
