What does the checkbox do?
The add to cart checkbox is a Facebook plugin that is placed below the "Add to cart" button on your product pages.
- When a potential customer clicks on the add to cart button, but doesn't purchase the cart, an abandoned cart message will be sent to them on their Facebook Messenger.
- After the customer finishes the purchase order confirmations and shipping notifications will be sent to their Facebook Messenger.
*Please note that customer needs to check the checkbox in order to receive the message.
How can I turn on this feature?
In order to turn on the add to cart checkbox simply go to your Home page scroll down to the Opt-in tools section and click on the toggle button.
Can I customize the checkbox?
Yes, you can. Simply click on the add to cart checkbox in Home or Opt-In Tools and it will open the editor pop-up.
You can then customize the message sent to customers after they opt-in from the add to cart checkbox. By sending no message, sending a custom message, or sending a message with a discount.
To create a custom message, select Custom message under Send message immediately after opt-in. You can then customize the opt-in request, the message sent after the customer accepts and the message received if the customer declines.
To create a message with a discount, select Discount message under Send message immediately after opt-in. After creating a discount code in Shopify’s back-end for use by customers, enter the code into Code. It will automatically be applied to the message with the ‘discount code’ tag highlighted in blue. You can then customize the opt-in request, the message sent after the customer accepts and the message received if the customer declines.
You can then customize how the checkbox looks on your site by selecting left-alignment or centering the text, and selecting a dark or light skin.
Next, you can customize the headline and subheadline with colours selected and save the customizations you’ve made.
