Follow Matt's video tutorial on how you can create a click to Messenger ad using the Questions feature to increase opt-ins and collect customer emails:

You can also follow the step-by-step guide below:

  1. Create a Question asking for the customer’s email

  • In the side menu, select Questions and add the Email field, it should now look like this:

  • Title your Question with a relevant name like “Collect Email Question” and delete the Intro and Success messages by selecting the text and pressing your backspace.

  1. Connect your Facebook Advertising account

  • Navigate to Facebook Ads on the left side menu. Press Connect Facebook Ad account.

  • Select the correct Facebook Ad account and press ‘Connect’

  • Your businesses Facebook Ad account is now connected to Octane.

  • Press ‘New click-to-Messenger ad’ to begin creating your ad. You will see a pop-up displayed as shown here:

  • Here you can create the conversation with customers who click your ad and input all relevant information around the campaign

  1. Create and launch a Facebook click to messenger ad

  • Here you can create the conversation with customers who click your ad and input all relevant information around the campaign

  • After placing your first message and reply options for customers, press add content to connect the email Question.

  • After pressing content, select Add Questions, and choose the ‘collect email’ question you’ve created in part 1

  • This will place the question within the conversation to collect an email from the customer.

  • You can now finish the conversation for customers who submit their email by placing a discount code:

  • To create a discount code, navigate to your shopify back-end and generate a relevant code as shown by Matt here:

  •  You can now add the code as text within the conversation. We also recommend linking a product to make it easier for a customer to check out right from the conversation.

  • Complete the required ad information for Facebook Ads Manager by setting a campaign name, ad set, budget, and target.

  • Select Create to finish the ad within Octane, and have it ready to view/turn on within Facebook Ads Manager! Within Ads Manager you can also edit advanced settings.

Congrats! You’ve created a click to messenger ad! 🎉
