Click to Messenger ads are one of two types of Facebook ads that you can use from within Octane AI. They're ads that appear on a user's timeline, with a call-to-action that redirects them to Messenger - this is a really effective way to engage with your audience while boosting your revenue.

Click to Messenger ads offer you a way to engage with and reach your customer base outside of typical messaging features.
They're eye-catching and redirect to users to Messenger, where you can provide a link, include discounts and really represent your brand's personality.
Using click to Messenger ads with Octane AI not only makes it a lot easier to create a conversation that customers can interact with, you can add other Octane AI features like a one-time notification opt-in and keep track of extra analytics on your ad's performance.
To start using ads with Octane AI, you'll need these three elements on your Facebook page:
Let's get right into a step-by-step guide on how to get started with click to Messenger ads.
1. Connect your Facebook ads account.
Let's find the Facebook ads page first.
If this is your first time using Facebook ads with Octane AI, you'll have to connect your ad account first:
In order to integrate your ad account, it will have to be connected to a Facebook Business Manager account, which you can find out more about here.
2. Enter the click to Messenger edit screen.
Once your Facebook ad account is connected, you'll be able to create a conversational ad! Let's start with a click to Messenger one for this guide.
This let you create an ad within Octane AI's dashboard. You'll have to finalize and publish the ad in Facebook ads manager, but creating it first in Octane AI makes it much easier to customize the user's experience.
3. Enter the name of your ad.
The name of the ad will only be visible to you in Octane AI's dashboard, and within Facebook ads manager. Customers won't see the name, so it should be something useful for you to reference.
4. Create your message.
The message is the conversation that customers will have with your bot in Messenger once they click on your ad.
In the first message, you can create a message using text, content like images and videos, features like one-time notifications and links.
TIP: If your goal is sales, we recommend adding a link to your store in the first message.
You can also use reply buttons that users can interact with to create a conversation.
5. Add an image.
The image you upload will be the one that displays in the ad, so make sure it's eye-catching!
6. Add post and link text.
The next part of your ad that you'll edit is the text that displays with it.
Post text appears above the image you use, and is optional:
The link headline, below in bold, is required, but the description underneath it is optional. You can also select the text used in the call-to-action button from a pre-approved list by Facebook:
7. Select your Facebook pixel.
Select your Facebook pixel before moving onto the Campaign. This will allow you to track your ad's performance for your store.

8. Set your Campaign
If you already have a campaign set up, you can select it from a drop-down menu and go straight to choosing an ad set.
You can also create a brand new Campaign when creating a click to Messenger ad in octane AI. For your Campaign objective, select Conversions if your goal is revenue
The Special Ads Category option can only be used by pre-approved pages, and isn't typically for eCommerce. Turning this on without approval from Facebook can result in delays in ad reviews, so we recommend leaving it off.
9. Select your ad set.
Your ad set is where your ad as well as your audience for this ad will be stored. If you selected an existing Campaign earlier, you can select an existing ad set from a drop down menu.
You can also create a new ad set whether you've selected an existing Campaign or are making a new one.
10. Set your budget for the ad.
Facebook ads work on an auction system in which you bid against other advertisers for the change to show your ad to a user.
There are two budget-related fields you can setup for your ad:
Maximum bid per reply (optional): this is the most you'll be willing to pay for every 1,000 impressions Facebook gets for your ad.
Daily budget: this is the maximum you'd like Facebook to spend per day bidding for impressions.
The maximum bid per reply is optional unless accelerated delivery is turned on.
If you're unsure what to set for your budgeting, Facebook recommend starting at $30 USD for the maximum bid per reply, and $50 USD for the daily budget.
If you're using accelerated delivery, there will be a minimum amount required for the maximum bid per reply which differs per country. For example, in the United States, this would be $30.
11. Select your audience.
While you can select an Octane AI list to be your audience, we recommend creating a Facebook custom audience for powerful targeting options.
Some custom audience ideas that can be great for revenue are:
Retarget users that visited your website, but didn't place an order.
Retarget users that haven't ordered in a while.
Use a lookalike audience to try and get new customers similar to your existing userbase.
12. Preview or create your ad.
If you preview your ad, it will be a non-live version, so analytics and certain functions, like adding a user to a list through a button, won't work in a preview.
If you create your ad, it'll be pushed to Facebook Ads Manager with all of the settings that you created in Octane AI.
Your ad will be reviewed by Facebook, which you can publish after it's approved.
