Set up your Klaviyo quiz results email

Follow these quick steps to send personalized quiz results and product recommendations with Klaviyo.

A Klaviyo quiz results flow automatically sends customers a personalized email after they complete your quiz. Follow this guide to sync your quiz data, create the flow, add recommended products and a results page link, and test everything before going live.

Step 1: Sync your quiz data to Klaviyo

Before creating your flow, complete your quiz once to make sure Klaviyo has the data you'll use in your email.

  1. Open your quiz and go to the Integrations.

  2. Check that your custom properties are labeled correctly.

  3. Open the published quiz and complete it using a test email address.

  4. In Klaviyo, find the test profile and confirm that you can see the quiz custom properties and quiz completed event.

Your quiz data is now ready to use in Klaviyo.

Step 2: Create a quiz completed flow

  1. In Klaviyo, go to Flows → Create flow → Create from scratch.

  2. Name your flow.

  3. Select Metric as the trigger.

  4. Choose the completed event for your quiz, for example: Octane: quiz completed: First Quiz

  5. Save the trigger.

Using the quiz completed event allows customers to enter the flow every time they complete your quiz and gives you access to the recommended products from that specific quiz completion.

Step 3: Add your results email

Add an email after the flow trigger and open it in the Klaviyo email editor.

Before adding your content, click Preview & test → Preview Event Info.

Here you can see the data Octane AI sent from your test quiz, including your recommended products and results page URL.

Step 4: Add recommended products

Add a Table block to your email.

  1. Open Table settings.

  2. Change the table type to Dynamic.

  3. In Row collection, enter: event.products_all

  4. In Row alias, enter: quiz

  5. Next, open the Content settings for your table.

    For the product title, use: {{ quiz.title }}

    For the product image, use: quiz.image

    You can also add other product information, such as: {{ quiz.price_formatted }} and {{ quiz.description }}

Your table will automatically display the products recommended to each customer.

Step 5: Choose how many products to show

If your quiz recommends more products than you want to include in the email, you can limit the number displayed.

For example, to show up to three products, change the Row collection to: event.products_all|slice:'3'

Replace 3 with the maximum number of products you want to show.

If you want to display all recommended products, keep: event.products_all

Step 6: Add a results page button

Add a Button block below your recommended products.

Use this as the button URL: {{ event|lookup:'quiz results URL'|default:'' }}

You can use button text such as See my results or View my recommendations.

Each customer will be taken back to the personalized results page they received after completing the quiz.

Step 7: Preview and test

Before setting your flow live:

  1. Click Preview & test and make sure your recommended products display correctly.

  2. Check that your results page button links to the correct personalized results page.

  3. Send yourself a test email or complete the published quiz using a new email address.

  4. Finish styling your email.

  5. Set your flow live.

That's it! Your Klaviyo flow will now automatically send personalized quiz results and product recommendations after customers complete your quiz.
