Smart Properties generate personalized values for each shopper based on their quiz answers. Unlike Smart Copy, which is added as a component, a Smart Property can be created once and reused anywhere text appears in your quiz.
For example, you can create a personalized headline, shopper summary, recommendation explanation, or other value and insert it using a variable such as {{shopper_summary}}.
Create a Smart Property
Open your quiz in the editor.
Click Settings in the top toolbar.
Select Smart Properties.
Click + Add property.
You can create up to 50 Smart Properties per quiz. Keep in mind that using more Smart Properties can increase loading times, as each value needs to be generated by AI.
Set up your Smart Property
Each Smart Property has three main settings.
Name: Give the property a name that describes the value it generates.
For example:
shopper_summary: You'll use this name to insert the Smart Property into your quiz with
{{shopper_summary}}.
The same name is also used when the property is sent to your integrations. Smart Property names aren't case-sensitive.
AI instruction: Tell the AI what you want it to generate for each shopper. Type @ to reference quiz answers in your instructions. You can specify what information to include, tone, length, format, or which answers to reference. You can also include image URLs if you want the generated value to display different images based on the conditions you set.
Fallback: Add a fallback value to use when the personalized value isn't available.
The fallback is also displayed in the editor before the Smart Property has generated a value.
Add a Smart Property to your quiz
Insert a Smart Property anywhere text can be displayed by adding its name inside double curly brackets.
For example:
{{shopper_summary}}: You can use Smart Properties in components such as Text and Heading.
For example:
Here's why we picked these for you: {{shopper_summary}}
You can also use them inside an HTML component: <p>{{shopper_summary}}</p>
Using Smart Properties with HTML gives you more control over how your personalized content is displayed.
Use multiple Smart Properties
You can create different Smart Properties for different parts of your personalized experience.
For example:
{{personalized_headline}}
{{shopper_summary}}
{{style_blurb}}
Each property can have its own AI instructions and reference different quiz answers.
This lets you generate smaller pieces of personalized content and use them independently throughout your quiz.
Edit or duplicate a Smart Property
Open Settings → Smart Properties to manage your existing properties.
Use the icons next to a Smart Property to:
Edit it
Duplicate it
Delete it
Use Smart Properties with integrations
Smart Properties can also be sent to your integrations using the property's name.
This lets you reuse AI-generated quiz content outside the quiz to personalize email or SMS messages or create customer segments.
