Use Flow View to visualize and test your quiz

Explore quiz paths, review branching logic, and identify potential issues before publishing.

Written by Ivana

Flow View displays your quiz as a visual diagram, helping you understand how shoppers move between pages and how your logic affects their experience. You can use it to explore different paths, find potential problems, and test your quiz.

Open Flow View

  1. Open your quiz in the editor.

  2. Click Flow View in the top toolbar.

  3. Review your quiz diagram, including pages, connections, and logic rules.

Tip: You can always return to the editor by following Back to Editor path.

Understand the quiz diagram

Each box represents a page in your quiz and displays its name, page number, and any configured logic rules. Click a page to expand its list of elements.

The lines and icons show how shoppers move through your quiz:

  • Solid blue line: Next page in order.

  • Dashed orange line: Conditional jump rule.

  • Dashed purple line: Page shown only when its visibility condition is met.

  • Dashed grey line: Rule that never matches.

  • Orange outline: Page with jump rules.

  • Eye icon: Page with visibility rules.

  • No-entry icon: Page shoppers can't reach or a rule that never runs.

  • Warning icon: Potential issue detected.

Use the legend in the top-left corner to identify additional symbols.

You can zoom, drag the diagram, switch between Top-down and Left-right layouts, or click Fit everything to see your entire quiz.

Explore quiz paths

Use the Highlight menu to focus on specific paths or potential problems.

Option

What it shows

Paths through…

Paths passing through a selected page

Paths ending on…

Paths ending on a selected page

Dead ends

Paths where shoppers get stuck or finish without products

Loops

Paths that send shoppers back in a circle

Never reached

Unreachable pages or rules that never run

When you select a path, Flow View highlights it and displays the answers a shopper would give to follow it. Click Show me in the preview to test that path with the corresponding answers. You can also use Why not this product? to investigate why a particular product wasn't recommended.

Tip: Check Dead ends and Never reached whenever you update your branching logic.

Check your quiz for issues

Open the Issues tab to automatically check your quiz for potential problems with pages, rules, products, and questions.

You can:

  • Find issues again: Run the check again.

  • Deep check: Perform a more thorough analysis.

  • Re-check automatically: Run checks when your quiz changes.

  • See on the flow diagram: Locate an issue in Flow View.

  • Review with AI: Get help reviewing detected issues.

Click any reported issue to learn more about it.

Understand what wasn't checked

The What was not checked section lists anything excluded from the analysis, such as products dynamically selected by AI through Smart Products.

Issues checks focus on quiz logic and product behavior, not every part of your content. For example, they may not detect a text variable that doesn't match an existing quiz question.

Preview and edit your quiz

Click Show preview to test your quiz on desktop, tablet, or mobile.

To change pages, Jump Rules, or Visibility Rules, click Back to Editor. Return to Flow View afterward to review your changes.

For instructions on setting up branching logic, see Use branching logic and visibility rules in your quiz.
