Dynamic quiz logic is built using priority questions, which are the questions that add or subtract products from the quiz's final recommendations.
Turning on a priority question is as simple as selecting an option, but making sure it works with the quiz you're building can involve a little more than that.

How to build a dynamic quiz
Dynamic quizzes have 2 ways you can use its logic.
Priority question(s) enabled: only products that are included in all priority question answers chosen will be recommended.
No priority question enabled: all products that are included in each chosen answer will be recommended.
This means selecting even 1 priority question affects logic in all dynamic quiz questions. Here's a breakdown below of how this works.

✅ When to use priority questions
You need to filter recommendations to specific preferences.
You have many products and want to use collections/tags to filter recommendations.
❌ When to not use priority questions
You want all answer selections to add their included products.
You need to create a quick, simple logic quiz.
In the example above, the priority questions will remove the red shirt from the recommendation because a red shirt wasn't included in the 1st priority question.
With priority questions disabled, products only have to be selected once to be recommended.
Here are some general best practices to follow when picking priority questions:
Start with just 1-2 key questions.
Pick a question all customers will answer.
Questions about core customer concerns are great choices.
Carefully consider your quiz logic before choosing a multiple select question.
The fallback results page
If priority questions are enabled, the fallback results page will be as well. Fallback results pages will only be seen if there are no products that match all priority question selections.
💡 Not seeing products at the end of a dynamic quiz? The 2 most common causes for this are:
You're seeing the fallback results page
Your quiz is hiding out of stock products
Adding dynamic products
Each answer in a dynamic quiz can have products included or excluded. When a question becomes a priority question, it must have at least 1 product match with another priority question for results to show.
If answers from different priority questions don't share any products in common, customers will land on the fallback result page instead.
📕 Ranking recommendations with non-priority questions
Even though non-priority questions won't add or remove products from a recommendations, they can be used to rank how those products are shown.
When a customer picks an inclusion inside a non-priority question, the products inside will be ranked higher.
An exclusion will rank products lower in non-priority questions.
Non-priority questions will have no effect however if the products inside of them aren't also inside of the priority questions.
How do variants work with inclusions & exclusions?
You can add individual variants, or the whole product into an answer.
At the end of a quiz, the variant dropdown menu will only display the variants that match your quiz answers.
📕 Using multiple select questions
Multiple select questions (questions where customers can select more than 1 choice) can be a complex addition to quiz logic.
Before choosing a multiple select question as a priority question, carefully consider:
How many answer combinations between your key questions will the multiple select question create?
Can this question work with an answer selection limit or without multiple select?
Would some products work better inside of a dynamic block (advanced logic on Octane Plus required)?
Multiple select questions can create a more complex quiz than you may actually need.

Do non-priority questions have to have products in them?
Non-priority questions don't need to include products. Questions can also be used to gather data, segment customers or just for quiz vibe.
Why aren't I getting any results?
If the combination of answers chosen in priority questions don't have any products in common, there won't be any products to recommend.
When this happens, customers will see the fallback result page instead.
Why is my exclusion not working?
Exclusions need to be in a priority question in order to prevent a product from showing up.
What if my quiz has no priority questions?
If a quiz has no priority questions, the quiz will simply add products from every answer chosen to the result.
