Connect Attentive to Octane AI

Connect your Attentive account to Octane AI and send quiz SMS opt-ins, answers, and results to Attentive.

Written by Ivana

The Attentive integration automatically sends SMS quiz subscribers and their quiz data to Attentive. Once connected, you can use quiz answers and results to create segments, trigger Journeys, and send personalized SMS messages.

Get your Attentive Sign-up Source ID

Before connecting Attentive, you'll need a Sign-up Source ID specifically for Octane AI. Your Sign-up Source ID identifies where subscribers opted in and is required for sending Octane AI SMS subscribers to Attentive.

When setting up your Sign-up Source ID, you may need to provide information about your quiz opt-in, including:

  • The type of opt-in

  • A preview of your SMS opt-in

  • Your SMS consent language

  • Links to your Terms and Privacy Policy

Make sure your quiz includes compliant SMS consent language before you start collecting phone numbers.

Important: Don't reuse a Sign-up Source ID created for another integration. Octane AI needs its own Sign-up Source ID.

Connect Attentive

Once you have your Sign-up Source ID:

  1. In Octane AI, go to Integrations.

  2. Find Attentive and click Connect.

  3. Confirm the connection in the dialog.

  4. You'll be redirected to Attentive. Click Authorize.

  5. Return to Octane AI.

  6. Enter your Sign-up Source ID and click Done.

Your Attentive integration is now connected.

Test the integration

Attentive will start showing Octane AI data after it has synced at least once.

  1. Open your published quiz.

  2. Complete the quiz and opt in using a valid phone number.

  3. In Attentive, find the subscriber using that phone number.

  4. Check the subscriber profile for Octane AI quiz data and the quiz completed event.

What data is sent to Attentive?

When someone opts in with their phone number through an Octane AI quiz, their Attentive profile can include:

  • Octane list — The Octane AI list the customer belongs to

  • Octane source — Where the opt-in came from, such as a quiz or welcome pop-up

  • Octane: [quiz question] — The customer's answer to a quiz question

  • Octane: Quiz result — The result the customer received

Octane AI also sends a custom event when the customer completes a quiz.

The event includes information about the quiz completion, including:

  • Quiz name

  • Quiz results URL

You can use this data to build Attentive segments, trigger Journeys, and personalize SMS messages.
