Once Octane AI is connected to Attentive, you can use synced quiz data to target customers based on their answers and results. You can also trigger a Journey when someone completes a quiz and send them a link back to their personalized results.
Before you start, complete at least one test opt-in through your quiz so your Octane AI data is available in Attentive.
Find Octane AI quiz data in Attentive
Octane AI data appears in two places in Attentive:
Subscriber activity includes the quiz completed event. Use this when you want to target customers based on whether or when they completed a quiz.
Subscriber characteristics include quiz answers, results, and Octane AI lists. Use these when you want to target customers based on what they answered or which result they received.
Create a segment with quiz data
You can create dynamic segments using quiz completions, answers, results, and other Octane AI data.
In Attentive, go to Segments and click Create segment.
Select Dynamic segment.
Choose how you want to filter your subscribers:
A subscriber's activity to filter by quiz completions
A subscriber's characteristics to filter by quiz answers, results, or other Octane AI attributes
Select the event or attribute you want to use.
Choose the values you want to include.
Add additional And / Or conditions if needed.
Review the subscriber count as you build your segment.
Save the segment.
For example, to target customers who received a Dry Skin quiz result, select:
A subscriber's characteristics → Octane: Quiz result → Dry Skin
You can use saved segments in both Attentive campaigns and Journeys.
Trigger a Journey when someone completes a quiz
You can use the Octane AI quiz completed event to automatically start a Journey after someone finishes a quiz.
In Attentive, go to Journeys and create a new Journey.
Start the Journey from scratch.
Select the Octane AI quiz completed event as the trigger.
Choose whether your Journey contains transactional or promotional messages.
Finish setting up your Journey.
The Journey will now start when a subscriber completes a quiz.
Only customers who have opted in to receive SMS messages can receive texts through the Journey.
Add the quiz results link to a message
The quiz completed event includes a unique link to each customer's personalized results page.
To add it to a message:
Add a text message to your Journey.
In the message editor, click the { } icon to open the variable menu.
Select Choose variable → Triggering event.
Select
quiz_results_urlto add the customer's results page link.
You can also select quiz_name if you want to include the quiz name in your message.
For example:
“Thanks for taking the {quiz_name}! Here are your personalized picks: {quiz_results_url}.”
When the Journey runs, Attentive will automatically replace the variables with each customer's quiz data.
Personalize a Journey by quiz result
You can send different messages based on the result a customer receives.
Add a split to your Journey and use the customer's Octane: Quiz result to create different paths.
For example, customers who receive a Dry Skin result can receive one recommendation, while customers with an Oily Skin result receive another.
You can also use the Attentive segments you've created from Octane AI quiz data to target different groups of subscribers.
