Pop-up quizzes are functionally the same as regular quizzes, except that they're published inside of a pop-up instead of a webpage.

However, this does mean that customers can interact with pop-up quizzes in different ways than page-embedded quizzes. This guide will explain some general tips to keep in mind when using a quiz inside of a pop-up.

πŸ’‘ What you'll learn about

How to publish a quiz in a pop-up

Tips for pop-up quiz content

Pop-up quizzes can often be treated the same as quizzes that are embedded inside of a webpage. However, there can be an advantage to making adjustments to a pop-up quiz and having a page-embedded quiz on your website at the same time.

πŸ’‘ Limit the number of questions in a pop-up quiz.

For a longer-form quiz, 4-6 questions can be a good length for quiz retention & completion rates.

But don't discount 1-question pop-up quizzes. With just a single question, you can use your pop-up quiz to collect contact information while personalizing the content to customer preferences - also called a conversational pop-up.

πŸ’‘ Avoid placing a pop-up quiz on the same page as a page-embedded quiz.

Customers can feel overwhelmed if they encounter pop-ups on the same page as a quiz. Approach quiz content as if your online store had an in-person sales associate - customers are more likely to place an order when quizzes make them feel like your store wants to learn about who they are.

πŸ’‘ Check pop-up behavior settings if you'd like the pop-up to appear more than once to a customer.

Pop-up quizzes have pop-up specific settings located inside of the pop-up editor. This editor can be accessed through the pop-ups page.

Here, you'll be able to customize when and where on your website a pop-up appears in addition to its frequency.
