This guide includes valid compliance language from Postscript you can use to collect SMS opt-ins and steps on how to add them to your phone opt-in page.

πŸ’‘ What you'll learn

πŸ’‘ Prerequisites

  • A Postscript account will be required to use the Postscript integration.

SMS opt-in compliance language

You use this template for TCPA-compliant opt-in language provided by Postscript:

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (e.g. cart reminders) from this shop and third parties acting on its behalf. Consent is not a condition to obtain goods or services. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. You also agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

In this compliance language, make sure that your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are hyperlinked. These are bolded in the template for visibility, but do not have to be bolded in the on-site copy.

Postscript's default op-in pop-up is a good example to follow for the type of wording and content your opt-in page should include at minimum.

When collecting phone numbers, subscribers will be prompted with a "Reply Y to Subscribe" text to confirm their opt-in. This allows your shop to confirm they are a valid, consenting subscriber. This Reply Y interaction is automatic and cannot be disabled.

Adding compliance language to your phone opt-in page

Compliance text can be added as text to multiple places in your phone opt-in page. For this guide, we'll be adding compliance text to the bottom of the page.

  1. In your quiz's phone opt-in page, expand the CUSTOM CONTENT BELOW THE ANSWERS section.

  2. Click on Add content.

  3. Click on Text.

  4. Under Text type, select the Rich text option.

  5. Copy the compliance text above, and paste it into the rich text box.

  6. When prompted to paste as HTML, choose the Insert only text option to avoid carrying over unintended styling.

  7. Next, link your terms of service URL to "Terms of Service" by highlighting it and clicking on the hyperlink symbol.

  8. Repeat this step for "Privacy Policy".

  9. Add additional styling, like underlining or capitalizing the text to make sure the links are highlighted.
